Taking a much needed break from to-do lists and serious shtuff and creating some time for PLAY🤸🏽‍♀️I think we could all use a little more of this, ya? 🤪

🤔Why is it so hard to find dog-friendly places to live, yet it seems like every person from the beach to the grocery store to every lil coffee shop in town has a pooch with them? Where do you live?!?! Is there a secret street I don’t know about lmk

“A horse runs and a fish swims- they do completely different things” ... or something like that. @gwagner85 I think I know you well enough to understand what you’re saying, even when it’s not coming out as eloquently as you want 😂 He said this to me a few days ago when I was having a little bit of a breakdown. Fear gremlins and comparison thieves. If I measure my life next to someone else’s, and it doesn’t line up, it can make me feel like I’m doing life all wrong. Until I remember that they don’t have the same dreams, goals, talents or values as I do. What success means to me is probably different than what it means to others, so it doesn’t really make sense to use their measurements. We’re all different, ya know? Being authentic doesn’t mean being happy all the time.✨ As a self diagnosed perfectionist, I’ve spent a lot of time trying to control my thoughts and forcing myself to think positive things in times when I was feeling bad. I’d be upset or angry but inside be screaming “you’re okay! Everything’s fine!!!!!!” ... So it’s no wonder it’d leave me feeling confused and not myself. That insincerity then lead me to believe the “good thoughts” were just me lying to myself since it wasn’t lining up with my feelings and that didn’t feel right. ✨It’s hard to rewire your brain into accepting something you’ve pushed away for so long, but here’s my reminder for the day: it’s okay to feel the entire spectrum of emotions. It brings you closer to being present, and when you are being true to your present self, that is authentic. Authentic is real. ✨ Shout out to ever amazing @katerina_andromeda - thank you for helping me see 💛

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned this summer, it’s that sometimes the same lesson presents itself over and over and over again, until you conquer it. Like little reminders, the same stuff will keep showing up, waiting for you to work through it. Or grow through it. Same thing! ✨✨✨
